Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (150g) broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (50g) Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup (55g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 large egg (50g)
  • 2 tbsp (16g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Finely chop the broccoli florets until they resemble green confetti; pat with a paper towel to remove all excess surface moisture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, Panko breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the egg to the bowl and stir with a rubber spatula until the mixture is tacky and holds together when squeezed.
  4. Form the mixture into small cylinders approximately 1 inch long.
  5. To bake: Place tots on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush tops with olive oil, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. To air fry: Arrange in a single layer in the basket, spray lightly with olive oil, and cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
