Ingredients:

  • 8 oz low-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (93% lean)
  • 1 cup chunky salsa, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch square baking dish, smoothing it out to the edges.
  3. Place the lean ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir and crumble the meat until it is no longer pink, then drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the smoked paprika and cumin, cooking for another 60 seconds until fragrant. Remove from heat.
  5. Spoon the seasoned beef over the cream cheese base and spread it evenly.
  6. Pour the drained salsa over the beef and finish with a generous layer of shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are slightly golden brown.
