Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp beef drippings
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp cold water
Instructions:
- Place a medium saucepan over medium heat and add the beef drippings, melting until they shimmer.
- Stir in the onion powder and garlic powder, toasting for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a gentle simmer for 3-5 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until completely smooth to create a slurry.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. While whisking the gravy constantly, slowly drizzle in the cornstarch slurry.
- Continue whisking for 1-2 minutes until the gravy thickens to a velvety consistency that coats the back of a spoon, then remove from heat immediately.
