Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
- 2 cups beef broth, low sodium
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add ground beef, leave undisturbed for 3-4 minutes to form a crust, then break into crumbles and cook until browned.
- Reduce heat to medium. Stir in butter, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 60 seconds until garlic is fragrant.
- Stir in the rinsed rice, coating the grains in the garlic butter until translucent at the edges.
- Pour in the beef broth and stir once. Bring to a boil, then immediately reduce heat to low, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15-18 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the skillet rest, covered, for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
