Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet or non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until fully browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  3. Push the beef to the sides of the pan to create an opening in the center. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir to coat the beef and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce reduces into a glossy glaze.
  5. Stir in the sliced green onions just before removing from heat.
