Ingredients:

  • 190g All-purpose flour
  • 150g Granulated sugar
  • 5g Baking powder
  • 3g Salt
  • 120ml Vegetable oil
  • 50g Egg, room temperature
  • 120ml Whole milk, room temperature
  • 7ml Pure vanilla extract
  • 225g Unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 360g Powdered sugar, sifted
  • 30ml Heavy whipping cream
  • 5ml Pure vanilla extract
  • 1g Salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your 4-inch pans.
  2. Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a separate vessel, beat the oil, egg, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet until the batter is smooth.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the two pans and bake for 22–25 minutes.
  6. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Beat the softened butter until pale and airy, then slowly add powdered sugar.
  8. Pour in the heavy cream, vanilla, and salt, and whip until velvety.
  9. Place one cooled layer on a plate and spread a generous layer of vanilla frosting on top.
